THE INSIDE FAMILY LAW AWARDS

YOU CAN SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND VOTE

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

🏆 "Every nomination becomes part of the story our profession tells about itself." Our unique video story awards are back!

Every profession has people who quietly make it better. The mentor. The innovator. The person whose influence reaches far beyond their own office.

The Inside Family Law Awards were created to celebrate those people.

Through short video stories, we're capturing the people, ideas and values shaping family law—continuing a conversation that began with the Inside Family Law book and podcast back in 2018 to today.

🎥 Every finalist tells their story.

💬 Every nomination helps tell the story of our profession.

❤️ Every year, together, we build another chapter in the living history of family law.

So please.... ✨ Nominate someone who has inspired you.✨ Or nominate yourself if your story might inspire others.

🤝 Would you like to be part of the story in another way? Partnership Overview attached

We're also welcoming a small number of organisations to join the Awards as Partners—whether through sponsorship, experiences or helping us celebrate the profession. A brief Partnership Overview is attached. If it resonates with you—or someone you know—I would genuinely love to continue the conversation.

I hope you will be part of the stories told through Inside Family Law Awards this year.

Warmly,

Zoë Durand

About the Founder

Inside Family Law began with a simple idea:

The greatest lessons in family law are not always found in textbooks — they are found in the stories, experiences and conversations of the people living it every day.

In 2018, family lawyer and mediator Zoë Durand created Inside Family Law: Conversations from the Coalface, bringing together candid interviews with judges, lawyers, barristers, experts and people who had experienced the family law system firsthand.

That conversation continued through the Inside Family Law Podcast, where Zoë has interviewed leading voices across Australia and internationally, including judges, practitioners, psychologists, psychiatrists, family report writers, academics and other experts. She has also reported from major family law conferences including FLENA, AFCC and Pacifica Congress.

The Inside Family Law Awards are the next chapter in that story.

Built around video submissions, the Awards continue the same philosophy — that the profession learns best when people share not only what they do, but why they do it.

They shine a light on the people, ideas and initiatives shaping family law: the innovators, mentors, advocates, problem-solvers and quiet achievers whose work often happens away from the spotlight.

Alongside her legal career, Zoë is also an artist whose work has been exhibited internationally, including in London, New York, China, Sydney, Melbourne and at a contemporary exhibition at the Louvre in Paris.

That creative lens sits at the heart of Inside Family Law — bringing together storytelling, curiosity and human connection to explore not just the law, but the people behind it.

Because family law is ultimately a human story.

And those stories deserve to be told.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"Zoë made us both feel comfortable and explained the process thoroughly as well as expectations. As we were comfortable, we were able to air our "grievances" and come to an amicable solution.  Zoë encouraged us to speak to each other. The process was wonderful. After this experience I would prefer mediation to any other kind of problem solving. I would not have changed a thing about how the mediation was conducted."
